Sardinia Bus Round Trip

Thanks to its 1800 kms long coastal-line, its white sand beaches and its crystal sea, Sardinia has become, in the past few decades, one of the most important tourist locations in Europe. But Sardinia has got so much more to offer then a relaxing holiday in a charming hotel: the culture and the rests of long-gone societies which in the past have inhabited the island; the beauty and the mystery of the prehistoric Nuraghic settlements; the wonderful and amazing pieces of art made by nature itself in the ancient caves.
Our proposal combines the experience of the discovery with the all the comfort of an organized tour: a full-equipped bus will allow you to relax during the transfers from a place to another; an expert professional guide, always at your disposal, will answer to all your questions; having all meals included will give you the chance to taste all the flavours of the Sardinian cuisine: from the famous fresh fish of Cabras, to the typical “porceddu” (suckling pig) prepared by the expert hands of real shepherds of the Gennargentu Mountains

The city was later conquered by the great Carthaginian navigators and warriors and as a result of the Punic Wars, fell into Roman hands around 238 A.C. Today we will cross a large part of the fertile plane of the Campidano, amongst fields of grain, artichokes, and vineyards in order to reach Barumini, where we will visit the famous nuraghic archaeological complex of „Su Nuraxi“. The village is located in a clearly strategic position in a central point on the island; this area has numerous nuraghic settlements. The central settlement dates back to 1100 B.C. and thrived up until the Phoenician and Punic Ages (VIII-VI centuries).  It was destroyed by the Carthaginians at the end of the VI century but survived through the Roman Age thanks to some rebuilding.
“Su Nuraxi” includes a main tower and four smaller ones connected to each other by a containing wall which also forms a raised courtyard; the entire complex is protected by another wall and seven towers. Surrounding the Nuraghe, especially on the north side, is the village with its circular, elliptic-shaped huts. Lunch at the Restaurant „Su Nuraxi“. In the afternoon, you will leave Barumini to reach the Giara di Gesturi: this place is well-known thanks to its typical wild little horses with almond eyes. There are about 600, all of them wild and free, probably imported from the far East. Adapted on the table-lands since long time ago, they live in small herds constituted of a dominant male and from 4 to 10/12 females with their respective colts. In February it happens often to see powerful and vigorous male horses fighting for the control of new females that will increase their harems and give them prestige.
